Spring is here. Spring is Sexy

florals for spring

Miranda Priestly preaching to the choir

Yes, the magical time of spring has arrived and fashion could not be any more confusing and dictating. With no floral prints to join us this year, fashion has turned its head on the SS16 collection. From bold eccentric colours to glitter and shimmer, this spring/summer is set to dazzle and amaze.

Having a repeated history of the fashion giants spurning out florals and recycled William Morris like prints, 2016 is set to be different. From the likes of Topshop showcasing satin slip dresses to plunge bodycons, the influence has filtered down from Rihanna and Selena.

River Island has a different agenda in mind however. With their collection focusing more on bold asymmetric prints to bardot dresses with the one off heavily printed shirt dresses, it looks like there is a lot of variety on the scene this year.

H&M visuals are of a casual relaxed aesthetic with off the shoulder blouses and satin (yes SATIN) bomber jackets. With the tres chic vibe the bomber jacket gives, it seems like it is here to stay throughout the year.

With leather and lace vaguely making an appearance, the forefront runners of this season falls onto loose flowy skater dresses, mixing it up with the vibrant in your face prints to the occasional bedazzle which Primark are stocking. This spring is set to be a cocktail of medley.

To the asian caramel, chocolate, cinnamon girls reading this; this spring is all about femininity. Embrace your fun sultry side with satin slip dresses, or get everyone’s eyes on you with a bold eye popping, bodycon dress. The light pastel colours will work wonders with our skin, harnessed together with quick updos or bold braids.

Get ready girls, don’t loose yourself in the frenzy which is the floral for spring bullshit. This year’s SS collection is based on slip dresses, stripes, ruffles and vivid bold colours.
